Crusher

The quarry 5 miles east of Moline was the largest industry on the South Kansas Branch, producing up to 100 cars a day. Natives called it crusher, and it was operated at one time by Solvay.

I made my own rock molds by taking 1/8" Hardie plank and breaking it into strips. I then stacked and glued them to give nice stridations. Finally I took a large tooth saw and ran it down the stack, simulating drill holes. Latex molds were made of that andused to cast the quarry. The ground cover came from the quarry in Kansas, so I know it is prototypically correct..
